Contractor Roles Available
We are a well-established NGO with over 35 years’ experience facilitating programmes for women who have experienced domestic violence. We recognise the role of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the necessity of providing evidence-based, culturally appropriate practice. Our programmes are approved by MSD, MOJ and Corrections and we have a highly skilled team committed to supporting the safety and wellbeing of all wahine.
Ensuring our staff and contractors represent the communities we serve is a priority for Innercity Women’s group and as such wee are seeking experienced, qualified, and committed practitioners with lived experience in Te Ao Māori and/or the Pasifika community for assessment and group facilitation work at our sites in Grey Lynn and Papatoetoe.
The roles involve:
- Facilitation of group programmes which may include evening work.
- Client Assessments
You will need to have:
- Demonstrated lived experience in Te Ao Māori and/or the Pasifika community.
- Demonstrable knowledge & understanding of the nature and effects of domestic violence.
- A gendered analysis of family violence.
- Training/experience working with abused women.
- Training/ experience in group process/group dynamics.
- Demonstrable understanding of power and control model for explaining the dynamics of violent domestic relationships.
- Demonstrable social/political analysis of the role that broader society/community may play in maintaining women in victim roles.
- Cultural /ethnic sensitivity and awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi principles.
- Commitment to ongoing training/supervision.
- Evident self awareness and resolution on personal abuse issues.
- Affiliation, or working towards affiliation, to appropriate professional body.
- Good computer skills.
- The ability to complete organisational paperwork as required.
