Looking for a motivated and energetic Board Member
Inner City Women’s Group (ICWG) is looking for a motivated and energetic Board Member - is that you?
Inner City Women’s Group is an independent Charitable Trust and we have supported women especially those affected by domestic violence for over 30 years. Inner City Women’s Group leads the way specialising in:
- women and anger
- supporting survivors of domestic violence
- offering assertiveness, communication, confidence-building skills and strategies
- parenting support for women affected by domestic violence
- women’s offender support services
ICWG is funded through government contracts, philanthropic trusts, and individual donations
The Board Role
The successful candidate will have some understanding of governance, be able to attend 2-hour monthly meetings, and be able to commit to some email communication between meetings. Driving our Strategic Plan and ensuring we remain a thriving, sustainable organisation into the long-term, is the Board’s priority.
Because of this, and as we operate in an increasingly busy and complicated sector, we are particularly interested in connecting with people that have a clear strategic focus and skills/competencies in one or more of the following areas:
- Understanding the Not-for-Profit environment
- Sound cultural competency and in particular tikanga Māori
- Some expertise in the domestic violence sector
- Ability to read and interpret financial information
- Strategic thinking
- Risk awareness
Now is the time to join us and continue the ICWG journey to support the important work we do.
